(1908 - Present)
The Stanley Cup was the orignial trophy recognizing the top amateur team in Canada. By the turn of the century, professionalism had taken hold and it was apparent that amateur clubs could no longer compete for hockey's Holy Grail. As a result, the Allan Cup emerged as the trophy recognizing Canada's top amateur team.
While the prestige of winning the Allan Cup is not what it once was, it remains the top trophy in all of amateur hockey.
Below are some commemorative pucks for championships that lead up to the Allan Cup title.
